Neighbors Sunday series Advent-Christmas music program The Music Ministry of Southport. Baptist Church will share the third in a series of Sunday Evening Advent Christmas Music Programs at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 12, and 7 p.m. Monday, December 13. The adult choir, youth choir, Hands of Hope sign language choir, drama min istry and soloists will share the musical “A Christmas to Remember” by Claire Cloninger and Gary Rhodes. “A Christmas to Remember" is filled with a combination of carols, well known seasonal songs and newly writ ten material, as well as meaningful nar rations, character monologues, solos, duets and a trio. Providing drama are Wayne Adkisson, as narrator; Jeff Johnson, as Joseph; Cam Sauls, as Mary; Sarah Sillings, as Jessica; Jerry Upchurch, as Dad; Casey Townsend, as Zack the Shepherd; and Jenni Johnson, as Ellen. Hands of Hope, which is directed by Patricia Harrinton, will sign “Jesus, I Love You/Oh come, Let Us Adore Him” with sign language soloists Amy Townsend and Rhiannon Messer. Terry Pierce will be sound technician, and Jim Lysaght and Jeff Townsend will provide lighting. Choral selections will be sung by the adult choir. The youth choir will portray candlelight carolers playing handbells. Soloists will include Juli Newton, Greg Eppard, Sarah Sillings, Jerry Upchurch, Jeff Johnson, Cam Sauls, Harry Willetts, Michael Schaub, Alfred Willetts, Pam Hicks and Jenni Johnson. The musical will be directed by Eddie Hicks, minister of music at Southport Baptist Church. The public is invited to attend. Southport Presbyterian “Being Mothers of God” will be the tide of die Rev. Jonathan Kelley’s sermon Sunday, based on the story of die angel Gabriel’s visit to Mary recorded in Luke 1:26-38. The commissioning service will be held at all three services for the first group of Steven’s Ministers. j Oak Island Presbyterian The children of die church will present their annual Christmas play entided ‘Then Came Jesus” at the 10:15 am. worship service. The story is about a grandmother, a rabbi, a young boy and his friends who come face-to-face with the promised Messiah. There will not be an 8:15 am. service. This year’s program, “The Father’s Gift of Love,” arranged by David T. Clydesdale, will feature a readers’ the ater and drama team.
